Our newest flight location, Byron Bay is a year-round travel destination with gorgeous beaches, amazing hinterland, superb weather and a wonderful laid-back vibe. Located on the New South Wales Far North Coast, just under an hour south of the Gold Coast airport, the region offers some of the best hot air balloon flights in the country. As Australia’s most easterly point and the first place on the Australian mainland to see the sunrise each morning, a Byron Bay ballooning experience offers a unique experience and a spectacular visual diversity of both coast & country. Hot air ballooning is an adventure activity and whilst there are no fixed timelines, your entire experience, including breakfast after the flight, should take approximately 3.5 – 4.5 hours.

Where: Minyon Falls are located in Nightcap National Park in the Byron Hinterland.   How to get there: The quickest route from Byron Bay is around 34km and roughly a 45 minute drive. The last… 2.5 km of the road is unsealed, and quite potholed. You don’t need a 4WD but it will get a bit bumpy in places.   Minyon Falls at Nightcap National Park in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia   What to expect: Drive through the beautiful Byron Bay Hinterland to Minyon Falls lookout, offering stunning views over the falls and rainforest below. With easy parking, picnic spots and barbecue facilities, it’s a fantastic day trip. There is also a great hiking track to the base of the waterfall where you can take a dip – allow for 3-4 hours if you are doing the base walk, there are stairs and boardwalk in sections as well as large boulders to navigate, so a moderate level of fitness and mobility is required for the base walk.
